Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 June 2026

This policy explains what personal data BookSharp collects, why, where it is stored, and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data controller

BookSharp is the data controller for personal data processed through the platform. For any privacy question or request, contact us at Keith@booksharp.ie.

2. Data we collect and why

  • Account information — your name, email, and billing details, used to provide and bill for the service (lawful basis: performance of a contract).
  • Salon / business data — services, staff, opening hours, and other content you publish, used to operate your booking site (lawful basis: performance of a contract).
  • End-client booking data — the contact and appointment details of your customers, processed on your behalf so bookings can be made and managed (lawful basis: legitimate interest in providing the service).
  • Marketing — where you opt in, we may send product updates (lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time).

3. Where your data is stored

Your data is hosted within the European Union (Supabase, in Frankfurt/Dublin). Keeping data in the EU is a deliberate design choice for GDPR alignment and data residency.

4. Processors we use

We rely on a small number of trusted processors to run the service:

  • Payment processor — card payments and payouts.
  • Resend — transactional email.
  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • Supabase — database and authentication.
  • Twilio / WhatsApp — booking notifications and messaging.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
  • have your data erased;
  • receive your data in a portable format; and
  • object to certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at Keith@booksharp.ie.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal and accounting obligations. When you close your account, we delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, except where we are legally required to retain it. You can request deletion at any time using the contact email above.

7. Cookies

BookSharp uses only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the service. If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
